Itís Vitally Important, Lend a Hand!

I recently attended a session at the University of Scouting on leader burnout. There was one person in the room from another district who was clearly very distraught. She and her husband were trying to hold a Cub Scout Pack together and were obviously frustrated by the lack of help from the parents in the unit. While the exact reason they were not getting help was not clear, this is unfortunately not a terribly uncommon problem with scout units. Read more.

Scouting for Food

We've made great progress organizing Scouting for Food, but there are still many areas without coverage. Every door without a bag is a lost opportunity help feed the hungry in our community. Bags go out on Saturday Feb 8th and are picked up on Saturday February 15th. There is still time to get signed up.

You can arrange to pick up bags by contacting Greg Lewis, Scouting for Food, Chairman greg.lewis@att.net m: 972.523.1246

It's Time to Sign Up Your Unit for Camp Cards to Sell!

Your unit is invited to participate in Camp Card sales, which begin Feb. 18. You can sign up your unit here. Please do so by Feb. 11 so we can have your cards ready for pick-up Feb. 18 at Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church, 8525 Audelia Road, Dallas, 75238. Read more.

Schedule Friends of Scouting Presentations

Unit leaders, please take a moment to let us know when a volunteer can come and talk to your unit about FOS. Scouting is fueled by countless enthusiastic volunteers like you, but they need support and facilities to deliver the program. Schedule a Friends of Scouting presentation for your next court of honor or Blue and Gold Banquet.
