Do a Good Turn Daily - Scouting for Food
Food pickup: Saturday February 10, 2018, door hangers available for pickup this Wednesday, January 31st.

Be sure and distribute door hangers in your areas beforehand. This is the most visible public service project the scouts undertake on a nationwide basis every year. It's not too late to sign up, there are plenty of areas available. Simply select an area or areas in your neighborhood and notify the Scouting for Food Chairman Hunter Miller The process has changed from previous years. Door hangers will be available to distribute to homes in your area rather than bags. Information about the process and where to pick door hangers may be found here.

2018 Wood Badge/NYLT Reunion Dinner Saturday, February 3, 2018

Come out to Camp Wisdom/Billy Sowell Scout Camp, Leadership Center for a great event. The reunion program will begin with dinner at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) The Reunion Dinner is open to all Scouters who have completed Wood Badge or NYLT and their families! Scoutmaster/Assistant Leader Specific Training, March 21, 28, 2018

Registration is now available. Boy Scout Leader Specific is a two evening course which will explain in detail how scouting works from meetings, patrols, boy leadership, safety and camping. This course is for all adults including parents, committee members and front line leaders. This class meets on two Wednesday evenings, March 21 and March 28th.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training, April 7-8, 2018

This is the companion course for Scoutmaster/Assistant Leader Specific Training. This course builds on the material with a hands on actual campout where you experience a campout just as the scouts do. You will learn by doing at the direction of an experienced leadership team. Advance registration and preparation is required. The event will be held Saturday-Sunday April 7,8 at Camp Wisdom. More information and registration.

Philmont or High Adventure Bound?

Northern Trail has the best backpacking training in the entire council! This training is for both scouts and adults and is a comprehensive introduction or refresher for backpacking. Both classroom training and weekend backpacking trip. Two classes, 7:00PM Thursday February 15, 2018 and Wednesday February 21, 2018. Weekend campout, Weekend of March 2-4, 2018. Venturing Rendezvous, Friday, March 23-25, 2018

Activities: Archery, Canoeing, Shooting Sports, Kayaking, Tomahawks & Knives, Paddle Boards, Low COPE, Rock Climbing, Volleyball, Police & Fire Professional Activities & much more!

Youth Staff Needed for NYLT

Wilderness First Aid classes for 2018

High adventure treks require this training. As the year progresses these classes will fill up. Don't wait until the last minute to try and find training. This is the 16 hour ECSI course designed by Philmont and meets the requirements for the BSA High Adventure Bases. Read more.

Circle Ten Council Annual Recognition Banquet - April 5, 2018

Congratulations to all the Northern Trail Scouts who earned their Eagle Scout rank in 2017! What a wonderful accomplishment! Parents, are you aware that Circle Ten Council honors all the previous year's Eagle Scouts at the annual banquet, and that their attendance is complimentary, for them and their Scout Master? When they receive their invitation in the mail, please RSVP and make plans to attend. They will be recognized with the whole John Stewart 2017 Class of Eagles, as well as be included in the group photo that will hang in the Murchison Scouting Center, and receive a special commemorative Council Strip Patch. Eagles must attend to receive the patch.

In addition, 24 deserving Scouters will be recognized with the Silver Beaver Award, as well as many others. Please join us as we celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of our Council! Twilight Camp 2018, June 4-8, 2018

Twilight Camp never disappoints! Your scouts will have a blast and learn more than they realize. Camp will be held at Breckinridge Park. The theme this year is Passport to Adventure. Look for activities based on Philmont, Northern Tier, Sea Base and the Summit. Make plans to attend. Watch the website and the Twilight Camp Facebook page for updates.

Texas Motor Speedway--Be There, Be There , Be There! And Be Prepared to participate in this Extraordinary Experience. We heard your feedback from 2015—CTX 2018 will be bigger and better! There will be camping, midway activities and a really big show! The Midway is a great opportunity for your Pack, Troop or Crew to work together and showcase an activity for CTX. More information.
