Top Story

Order Your Camp Cards -- The deadline to order Camp Cards is Tuesday February 19 and the Council Camp Card Kickoff is March 4th at which time the unit's cards will be distributed. The best and easiest way to get signup up is for your unit's coordinator to go ONLINE and sign your unit up to sell cards. The second way is to contact the ADC assigned to your unit and work with him or her to get your unit signed up. Then have your Camp Card Coordinator attend the Kickoff on March 4 at the King of Glory King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6411 LBJ Freeway Dallas, TX 75240 MAP to pick up your cards.

Service Projects

Scouting for Food Report -- The scouting for food drive was a big success. Northern Trail scouts collected a lot of food for the local food pantries. A big THANK YOU to all the units who participated in this important event.

Upcoming Events

Camporee -- March 23-24, 2013. Camp Trevor-Rees Jones. Units may now sign up and make campsite choices. Staff needed, please sign up today. Contact Tim Meeks at tim.meeks@ablsba.com if you have questions.
Venturing Rendezvous 2013 -- Friday 12 April 2013 - Sunday 14 April 2013, most activities on Saturday April 13th. All Venturing and Venturing age units. More information.

Action Needed Now

Re-Charter Deadline & Help -- Time is running our to compete your unit re-charter. For most units in Northern Trail, charters expire at the end of February. If your unit has not completed the re-charter process, now is the time to complete this task. Help is available. Wait too long and your charter will lapse. If that happens you are no longer a scout unit and you will have start from scratch. Don't let that happen.
Training Inventory at Recharter -- When re-chartering your unit, it is now necessary to provide the council proof of on-line or face-to-face Youth protection.
Friends of Scouting Presentations -- If you have not scheduled a Friends of Scouting presentation for your next Court of Honor or Blue and Gold banquet, please do so today. The process is quick and easy, simply fill out the On-line form.. The presentation will only require 10 to 15 minutes during your event.
Twilight Camp Staff Needed -- Come and help at Twilight Camp! We are looking for walking den leaders, area leaders for each rank area, program staff and range staff. Contact Barbara Richer at 214-478-3972 barbara.richer@yahoo.com for details of specific responsibilities.. More information.

Training

Face-to-Face Youth Protection Training -- Tuesday, February 26 at 7:00PM. Dartmouth Elementary. This training needed for adult participation in some events, particularly Twilight Camp, Webelos Resident Camp and Summer Camp. Sign up today.
Oak Leaf Training -- Weekend of 4/6-7/2013 at Camp Wisdom. Your scouts will make better leaders with good leadership training. Registration now available. Make plans to attend.

Public Awareness -- Northern Trail District's Marketing & Public Awareness Chair is Marjie Price. Her role is to help promote the District within the community. If you have stories about your unit's activities, such as service projects, Eagle projects, and other scout successes, she wants to help you get these items featured in the local media.
