Spring Break Schedule Changes, Boy Scout Roundtable, Venturing Forum and OA Chapter meeting.

Due to spring break, some events have been rescheduled. Boy Scout Roundtable and Venturing forum will be held on Tuesday March 21st. The OA Arapaho Chapter meeting will also be moved to March 21st. The times and locations are the same.

The Boy Scout roundtable topic will be a discussion about recruiting boys who were not Cub Scouts. We will have a fun and give away a door prize to Kenny's Burger Joint while expanding your knowledge of scouting. Everyone is invited.

Camporee, Weekend March 24-26, 2017 Camp James Ray

Oak Leaf Training, Weekend April 8-9, 2017 Camp Wisdom

A major part of the scout program is leadership training. Oak Leaf is a junior leader experience designed to supplement Troop level training and prepare Scouts for NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training).

It is for Boy Scout youth, First Class Rank or above who will be serving in a leadership capacity within their Troop. Minimum age is 12 years old at time of course. More information and signup may be found on the website here.

Venturing Rendezvous

Venturing Rendezvous is a weekend of fun activities for co-ed youth ages 14 to 21 - including, Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explorers, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.
Dates: Friday, March 31, 2017 – Sunday, April 2, 2017. Come for the day Saturday or camp for the weekend. Location: Camp Wisdom ‐ 6400 W. Redbird Lane, Dallas, TX Theme: Pirate Holiday (Aarrgh!) including a round‐robin camporee style event. Price: $30 Early Bird / $40 Day of Event. Lunch and Dinner Saturday are included. Boy Scout Roundtable, Tuesday March 14, 7:00PM

You didn't get the expected number of Cub Scouts crossing over to your Troop, and now your Troops survival is in jeopardy. What do you do? "Where to find new Scouts" will be the discussion at our next Boy Scouts Roundtable. Join us on Tuesday, March 14th, 7:00 PM, at the First United Methodist Church in Richardson.

Cub Scout Roundtable, Thursday April 13, 7:00PM

Every scout leader needs recognition. Join the April Cub Scout Roundtable on Thursday, April 13, to learn about Cub Scout leader awards and recognitions. The roundtable meets at the First United Methodist Church in Richardson in room 211. The program topic will be how to officially recognize cub scout leaders for their service and their contributions to scouting.

Here are a few of the things to be discussed: Cub Scout leader awards, religious awards, other awards, and recognitions. Come to the April roundtable to learn "how to" recognize your leaders. Also, as bonus for attending roundtable, learn more about BALOO training set for Saturday, April 22. The meeting begins at 7pm and will last one hour. See you at roundtable!

Boy Scout Leader Specific Training, Wednesday March 22th & March 29th, 2017

This course for adult leaders in Boy Scout units. Leaders who work directly with boys in a unit should attend. This course will teach you about organization, operation, outdoor program and role of the adult leader in a troop. The class meets 2 times. Registration now available More information

Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills, Weekend April 8-9th, 2017

Learn by doing. Participate in an actual Boy Scout weekend campout. You will learn firsthand how a Boy Scout Troop operates in the field. Great fun and informative. This course is taught in conjunction with the 2 classroom sessions offered a few weeks earlier. It's is strongly recommended that you participate in both. Advance preparation and signup required. BALOO Training, Saturday April 22, 2017.

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) training is an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program. BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience.

BSA requires that at least one adult on a Pack overnighter be BALOO trained. Webelos Den Leaders camping as a den must be BALOO trained.

Wilderness First Aid Classes for 2017

This is the 16 hour ECSI course designed by Philmont and meets the requirements for the BSA High Adventure Bases.

Circle Ten Council Annual Recognition Banquet, April 6, 2017

Do you have a Scout who earned his Eagle rank in 2016? Did you know that we would like to honor him at the Annual Recognition Banquet, along with the whole 2016 Tom Baker Class of Eagle Scouts?

The Circle Ten Council Annual Recognition Banquet is held annually to recognize Eagle Scouts and the volunteers of Circle Ten Council. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Tom Baker Class of 2016 Eagle Scouts and the 2016 Silver Beaver Awards. In addition, other high level awards will be presented or recognized during the Recognition Banquet. Please come and support these dedicated Scouts and Scouters as they are recognized on this special night.
