Circle Ten Council Annual Recognition Banquet – March 28, 2019

Everyone should be aware of the Circle Ten Council Annual Recognition Banquet occurring on March 28th at the Plano Event Center by now. Registration on CampMaster has closed. Tickets will be $60 at the door the day of the event.

We look forward to celebrating the Bobby B. Lyle 2018 Class of Eagle Scouts, 24 deserving Silver Beavers, and many other deserving Scouts and Scouters for their efforts and dedication. More information and a flier here.

Oak Leaf – April 6-7, 2019

Oak Leaf is a junior leader experience designed to supplement Troop level training and prepare Scouts for NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training).

It is for Scouts USA, boys, First Class Rank or above who will be serving in a leadership capacity within their Troop. Minimum age is 12 years old at time of course. The course will be held at Camp Wisdom. More information and registration.

SM/ASM Leader Specific Training Wednesday March 20 and Wednesday March 27, 2019

Scoutmaster/Assistant Specific training is a two-evening course which will expand on and clarify your understanding of the Scout program. The course addresses how and, most importantly, why Scouting works and will help you to insure the success of your scouts in your unit. This course is for all Unit Leaders, including Parents and Committee members. More information and sign-up

Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills April 6-7, 2019

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills training is a companion course to Scoutmaster/Assistant Specific. This is a hands-on campout where you participate as your scout would in the actual planning and execution of a scout campout while advancing towards the rank of First Class. You will learn by doing at the direction of our experienced leadership team. Expect to learn a lot while having a very enjoyable experience. Advance registration and preparation is required. BALOO Training, April 6-7, 2019

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation training is an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program. BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience. Participants will camp overnight and learn by doing. Camp Cards

Camp Cards are an easy way for scouts to earn money for camp and raise money for your unit. In addition, they help fund council activities. Camporee, March 22-24, 2019

Camporee is a great opportunity to have some fun, see other units in action, meet other unit leaders and visit a great Circle Ten Camp.

Unit registration is now available on-line.

This year’s theme is Civil War - East vs. West. Camporee is a chance for all the Troops in the district to come together and compete for best Troop and best Patrol, slightly different from years past we will also have an overall winning side (of camp). It’s a chance for you and your Troop/Patrol to come together and hone your scouting skills to go for the win, having a lot of fun in the process. More information

Pre Camp Inspections

Circle 10 is in need of adult volunteers to help with pre camp inspections. This is the inspection of the Constantin, Wisdom, CSR/TRJ and James Ray. No experience needed. Volunteers will be in groups and will have a check list as a guide. This is important to make sure the camps are safe and ready for the summer. The schedule for inspection is below. Summer Camp Plans

FBI Dallas 2019 Teen Academy

The Teen Academy is a one day overview of the FBI for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The day will begin at 8:00 am and conclude at 5:00 pm. Topics have traditionally included presentations in Counterterrorism, Cyber-Internet Safety, and Drugs in addition to demonstrations in Evidence Response Team (ERT), Crisis Negotiation, Bomb Tech program, and SWAT. The Applicant Recruiting process will be featured during the lunch break (topics subject to change). Space is limited you must apply. Read more

Twilight Camp Registration Now Open, June 3-7, 2019

Join us for a week of fun as we explore the world of adventures. Twilight Camp is the perfect way to start your summer time fun. Earn Cub Scout achievements, have tons of fun with your den, and meet new Scouting friends!
This is a Twilight Camp" which means that all activities occur between 4:00PM and 8:30PM. No need to take a full day of vacation. Most can adjust their work schedule to accommodate the activity.

Twilight Camp Staff Needed, June 3-7, 2019

Could Twilight Camp be cancelled? Unlike resident camps, Twilight Camp relies on volunteers to staff the camp. We have been advertising for volunteers to staff the camp. Camp has three phases, set-up, camp and takedown. We need volunteers for each phase. During camp we need leaders for Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos activities. We need volunteers to move the camp supplies from the warehouse to camp and back.

Wood Badge WB-129 March 24-31, 2019 and April 12-14, 2019

The spring Wood Badge Course, WB-129, is coming soon! Will be held at Camp Wisdom during the always beautiful Texas springtime. Come get trained and help us celebrate 100 years of Wood Badge. The course will be held over two weekends: March 24-31 and April 12-14. This is your opportunity to learn about Delivering the Promise to our youth and, just maybe, carry over some leadership skills into your workplace. As if you need any more incentive, the SPL for Wood Badge 129 is our very own District Chair, Steve Bloberger. Joe Tavares will be in the mix, as well, as a Troop Guide. Wilderness First Aid classes for 2019
