We have extended the deadline for Y.E.S. awards to Wednesday December 13th. This is a hard deadline and nominations after that date will not be accepted. It's quick and easy to submit a nomination. Combined Roundtables Tuesday December 12, 2017 FUMC

Come one, come all it’s a party. December’s Roundtable is a mixer of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts, Venture Scouts and S.T.E.M Scouts. Everyone is invited. We’re going to meet, greet and possibly do some recruiting of Packs by Troops. Meet the leaders, and set up your Webelos visits. Recruiting season is about to open.
There will also be a visual history of Scouting through memorabilia collections. Your invited to bring your collection of patches, art works, vintage uniforms, photos and other things you may want to show. And, if you will, please bring a covered dish of your favorite dessert.
Your take away:

Everyone is invited. Please bring Moms and Dads from your unit. Also, bring parents who have an interest in bringing their sons and daughters into Scouting.

Important End of Year Tasks

First of all, re-charters are due December 31, 2017. Please don't wait until the last minute to complete this task. Help is available, contact Joe Tavares, tavares.joseph@gmail.com and he will assist you.

Rosters, please send a roster of your unit to our District Executive Chad Caudle, chad.caudle@scouting.org. Just a simple list of members. This helps cross check records and insures accuracy.

Every registered adult much have current youth protection training to complete the annual registration. The training is good for two years. Either the on-line or face-to-face training will meet this requirement. Online training is available here: my.scouting.org/. Face-to-face is being offered this week! See below.

Face to Face Youth Protection

Face to Face Youth Protection Training will be offered on Tuesday, December 12th from 7PM to 8PM. First United Methodist Church, Richardson. Education building Room 227A.

District Awards Banquet

The venue and keynote speaker are now in place! The banquet will be held at the Royal Oaks Country Club, 7915 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231. Our speaker is our new council Scout Executive Sam Thompson. We will honor our hardworking volunteers, hear from our new Scout Executive and have a great meal. Tickets are now available. $25 each or $200 for a table for 8.

University of Scouting, Saturday, January 6, 2018

Are you a new leader of a troop, pack or den? If so, the University of Scouting is for you. Tons of great training on how to deliver a quality program without having to re-invent all the details. Trust me, others have trod the trail before you and they are anxious to pass on valuable knowledge. There is something for everyone, neophyte and veteran scouters alike.

The University of Scouting offers a wide range of unique adult leader training courses for Cub Scout Leaders, Boy Scout Leaders, Venturing Leaders, Varsity Leaders and Ship Leaders.

Philmont or High Adventure Bound?

This training is for both scouts and adults and is a comprehensive introduction or refresher for backpacking. Both classroom training and weekend backpacking trip. Two classes, 7:00PM Thursday February 15, 2018 and Wednesday February 21, 2018. Weekend campout, Weekend of March 2-4,2018. More information and registration.

Twilight Camp 2018, June 4-8, 2018

Registration for Twilight Camp is now open! Go to circleten.org/day-camp-twilight-camp and click on the link for Northern Trail to register. Junior and Adult Staff will also register through the same link. Everyone who registers before January 14, 2018 will receive an extra Day Camp t-shirt for free!

Twilight Camp never disappoints! Your scouts will have a blast and learn more than they realize. Camp will be held at Breckinridge Park. The theme this year is Passport to Adventure. Look for activities based on Philmont, Northern Tier, Sea Base and the Summit. Make plans to attend. Watch the website and the Twilight Camp Facebook page for updates.
