Be Prepared
For those interested in adding NARCAN/NALOXONE to their FIRST AID supplies there is now a program available to obtain (without cost) this item. You can order it for your organization or as an individual. We certainly hope like other items among your FIRST AID supplies that this is something that is NEVER needed!
The program is thru UT Health Science Center San Antonio. The link is: https://uthscsa.edu/physicians/news/be-prepared...... or https://txoti.org/ Texas Opiod Training Initiative.
If you do not want to obtain this item, please at the very least go to the websites and learn more about this program. "At Naloxone Texas, we believe in the power of collective action. We distribute life-saving naloxone and evidence-based training to organizations and individuals across Texas. Our goal is simple: To empower communities and equip individuals with the tools and training they need to respond swiftly and safely to opioid overdoses. With your partnership, we can make a difference, one life at a time." (from the website)

Being a volunteer can sometimes seem like a thankless job with little recognition. To address this, the district has several adult awards designed to recognize hard working volunteer adult leaders. These awards are directed at the unit, district and council level. The district will hold an awards banquet on February 19 to formally recognize these individuals. Please take a moment to submit nominations. More information and nomination forms may be found here.
If you have questions, please contact the Awards and Recognition Chair Muhammad Ikram at [email protected]

The Range Activities SAFEty training is now available online. Every unit who participates in Range Activities must have trained leaders at the range with their units. It requires about 30 minutes of your time. Once you login to my.scouting.org you can then follow this link directly to the course at https://training.scouting.org/courses/SCO_822
A huge amount of training material is available online, including position training and Youth Protection. Access your account here. If you don't have an account, it is easy to set one up. You can access your training records and set up a complete training program.
