Camporee will be held the weekend of March 28-30 at Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp near Athens, Texas, (an easy 80 mile drive). This is a beautiful camp and the weather should be perfect.
Camporees are events at a local scout camp which involves multiple units. There will be a campfire program, range sports, troop games, climbing tower and more. The theme this year is "Rock and Roll"
Units camp as they would in a weekend campout and provide for their own equipment and meals.
Camporees are fun, high energy events and once a unit participates it becomes an annual activity. If your unit has not participated in Camporee or it's been a long time, then you don't know what you are missing.
Unit Leaders, Camporees provide an opportunity to visit with other leaders and see first hand how their units manage weekend campouts.
So get signed up today and attend Camporee. More information.
Due to RISD spring break, we have moved Roundtable to Thursday, March 20th 7:00pm.
The topic is Unit Leader & Commissioner Tools for Unit Metrics.
At the roundtable we will be educating Unit Leaders on how to access information that will greatly benefit them & their youth by providing the ability for Unit Leader to see: Training, Size of the Unit, Growth, Advancement and Outdoor Activities all in one easy to access place on their phone, tablet or computer.
These new tools were just released in February. Please come join us at First United Methodist Church Richardson, Room 230 at 7:00 to meet and greet other unit leaders and ask any scouting questions you may have.
