Dedicated Volunteers

This past Wednesday evening, Circle Ten Council held a banquet to recognize adult volunteers who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the success of scouting. Northern Trail District was well represented with Dr. Don Blum and Kevin Smith receiving the Silver Beaver Award. Out of the entire council there were only eleven recipients. Hearing the resumes of all of the recipients it is obvious that this group of individuals have made a huge impact on the lives of countless scouts and have served the community outside of scouting as well.

We need more people like these to step up and make a difference by volunteering. You can make a difference as well. Step up and help the leaders in your unit deliver the promise of scouting. Many hands make light work and small things like helping with transportation and unit events is a good place to start. Most of you have skills to share and serving as a merit badge counselor is a great way to get started. Getting the needed registration is not difficult but necessary. Talk with your unit leader, unit commissioner or the advancement chair to learn more.

Little things make a difference and you can make that difference!

You Can Help Connect Us With New Unit Prospects

Northern Trail is setting appointments with Calvary Pentecostal and St. James Episcopal churches. Are you a member at either site? We'd love to know as it's always helpful to have Scouters who are also members of our partners. Contact DE Katherine McCrary at [email protected]. Have ideas for other possible unit prospective partners? We're all ears!

Friends of Scouting

We have reached $103,000 out of our $150,000 goal. We appreciate everyone’s generosity this year. Thank you to those who have given! It’s not too late to give and get your Scouting merch. Contact Katherine McClary [email protected] or Kristine Schwope at [email protected] or 214-734-2281 for assistance.
